1. Apply cleaning solution on dry cloth
2. Thoroughly wipe down the leather material of the bag with the cloth.
3. Use a separate unsoiled cloth to clean the cream/cleaner off the bag to complete the upkeep.
4. Avoid cleaning products with alcohol, turpentine or other mineral spirits as they will discolor and dry out leather.

Great messenger bag!, August 27, 2016

    Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
I’m impressed with the quality of this bag, and love the genuine leather and soft canvas combination. I purchased the coffee color for my boyfriend as a birthday present, and find it to be very versatile.
A laptop can easily fit inside as well as notebooks and other items, and there is a built in divider between the inside compartments to help separate them all. The zipper on the main compartment is high quality, and the rest of the closures are magnetic (also feel high quality). The strap is nice and wide to help support the weight in the bag on your shoulder.
The pictures tell the story better than I can, though I will say I would recommend this bag!

Very good purchase, but where is it from?, September 24, 2016

    Verified Purchase(What’s this?)

The bag just arrived and It’s definitely a good purchase on first appraisal. |

    MATERIALS: Excellent
    • Materials all pass the sniff test, literally – the leather smells great and seems to be of a good quality and a very good texture. Far better quality than I would expect at this price point (I got this marked down at about $45 – not sure how often it’s on sale).
    • Be aware that the leather does come with some scarring, scuffing, light distressing, etc. I consider that a pro and prefer leather’s “natural” appearance as I think it ages much more nicely, but if you want something with slick, new-shoe leather, you should consider other products.
    • The canvas/denim seems to be perfectly good quality at first glance. I’ll have to wait and see how it breaks in but I don’t have any outward cause for concern.
    • The fabric seems to be lightly waxed (I flicked water onto it and it beaded for a while before slowly soaking in) and there’s a zipper/liner on in the inside of the main compartment, so your stuff should be reasonably okay if you get caught in the rain. Not truly waterproof, but you have bigger problems if you seriously expected it to be.
    • Product has a one-year warranty of some kind. More on that later.

    • Again, if you don’t like “lived in” leather or really want that polished, patent look, this isn’t for you.

    • Very roomy, but doesn’t look “deflated” when less-than-fully stuffed, as some canvas-based bags do. I think this owes to the leather heels on the bottom corners providing some structure. The front pockets are both a decent size. Big enough to hold a novel or bulky cables, maybe not quite big enough for an iPad. Or maybe they are, I don’t know. I paid for this with my iPad trade-in, sooo…
    • Good organization. My daily luggage is a 13″ laptop and charger, sunglasses in a hard case, a legal pad, a Kindle, some pens and assorted cables, and a pack of cigarettes (or, at the moment, a sleeve of Nicorette). They organize almost perfectly in this bag and there’s room to spare – another inch in the laptop compartment and easily enough room to add in some books or whatever weird stuff you people carry around.
    • I was a little tenuous on the handle when I ordered, thinking that a one-handled, flap-over style bag would have an awkward weight distribution and that the stress would eventually break the handle from its stitching. But the handle is buckled, riveted, and stitched on, and the four magnetic catches on the front of the bag spread the weight out and keep everything feeling secure. At this point I think something else will go wrong with the bag (e.g., damaging or staining the leather) before the handle comes off.

    • The interior zipper pocket is right above the laptop compartment, and completely inside of it if you don’t pull up at the fabric. The zipper pull is some kind of uncoated brass that curves into a point and I’m concerned about it scuffing up my laptop. I wish they had put this pocket in the other compartment, sewn a flap over the zipper, or even just coated the zipper pull with something to round off the edges.
    • This is a little more nitpicky, but some more dividers on the interior pockets would have been nice. My old bag was a cheap, 100% function/0% style Case Logic number, but one of the things I liked about it was this layered pocket (kind of like the shoe organizers you throw over your door) that could separate business cards, headphones, phone chargers, etc. Not the end of the world but I imagine I’ll be doing some more untangling with this.
    • Wouldn’t have minded a shoulder pad on the strap, but I’m sure that can be DIY’d, or you could just unhook the lobster clips and replace the whole strap assembly with whatever you want. This is America.
    • I don’t really care about this, but the straps and buckles are non-functional, if you couldn’t tell. Although it’s hard for me to understand why you would want them to be functional.

    CONSUMER INFORMATION: Needs improvement
    • There is apparently a warranty?

    • Holy hell, who wrote the warranty tag?? I can make out that I have a warranty, but I don’t know the terms or really anything else – although the card is bulleted, which tells me that there’s enough information to be itemized. I just can’t tell what any of that information is, because it looks someone machine-gunned a dictionary. I’m a little puritanical about grammar to begin with, but this goes beyond a good-grammar-is-professional thing to more of an even-bad-English-gets-the-point-through type of problem.
    • I don’t even care about the warranty and have literally never used one, but this got me curious about wtf the card is supposed to say, who made the bag, and what country/daycare their copyeditor was from. But the warranty link on…
